Where am I today?
1 The 4 Mindset Shifts One unified frame — from wherever you are to wherever you're going

Each shift below shows what it looks like at every stage. Rate yourself honestly — not where you think you should be, but where you actually are today.

JudgeCurious
Suspend judgment. Ask before assuming. Every feature request is a hypothesis, not a fact.
Scribe"This doesn't make sense. They don't know what they want."
Consultant"Help me understand the problem behind this request."
Passionate"Every 'no' is a clue. Every objection hides a deeper need."

FixUnderstand
Don't jump to solutions. Explore the problem space before you even think about answers.
Scribe"I know the solution. Let me spec it out."
Consultant"Let's sit with the problem a little longer. What are we really solving?"
Passionate"The problem itself is the most interesting part. Solutions are just artifacts."
(1=Scribe   5=Passionate)
SurfaceDeep
Look past the feature request. The real need is always beneath — feelings, fears, identity, purpose.
Scribe"The requirement is the requirement. I document, I deliver."
Consultant"What's beneath this request? What are they really asking for?"
Passionate"Surface requests are just the doorway. The treasure is in the depths."
(1=Scribe   5=Passionate)
TellAsk
Stop telling stakeholders what they need. Start asking questions that help them discover it themselves.
Scribe"Here are the requirements I've gathered. Sign off here."
Consultant"What does success look like to you? What worries you most?"
Passionate"A great question is worth more than a great answer. I collect questions."

2 Emotional Awareness Recognise what you feel in the room — and what it tells you

Your body knows before your mind does. Every stance has a physical signature. Learning to read your own emotions is the first step to reading your stakeholder's.

📌 Body Signals — What Each Stance Feels Like
PlacatingShoulders tense, nodding too much, shallow breath, stomach tight
BlamingJaw clenched, voice sharp, chest tight, finger-pointing energy
Super ReasonableBody still, flat tone, crossing arms, narrow focus on data
IrrelevantFidgeting, shifting weight, scattered eyes, quick subject changes
CongruentRelaxed shoulders, steady breath, open posture, grounded
Your body is a compass. When it tightens, you're in a non-congruent stance.
📝 My Trigger Tracker
After each session, jot down what came up for you.
What emotions came up in my last session?
What triggered them?
What did my body feel?
📈 Building Resilience — Reset Practices

You can't prevent every emotional reaction. But you can learn to reset mid-session.

Breathe: 3 slow breaths before responding Name it: "I notice I'm feeling defensive." Pause: Count to 3 before the next sentence Reframe: "Their resistance is data, not personal." Curiosity: "I wonder what's underneath that reaction."
What helps me reset mid-session?
3 Passion & Purpose Connect your why to the work — and to your stakeholder's vision

Passion isn't something you find — it's something you build by connecting what you do every day to what matters deeply. This section helps you make that connection: first inward (your purpose), then outward (stakeholder purpose).

✦   Part A: My Purpose   ✦
💚 Why This Work?

Go beyond the obvious. Why BA? Why discovery? What drew you here?

⚡ What Energises Me?

Not every part of the job lights you up. When do you feel most alive in your work?

🌟 What Kind of BA Do I Want to Be?

Describe the BA you're becoming — not just in skills, but in presence and impact.

🌎 'Solution With Purpose' — To Me, That Means...

KabarBaik's tagline isn't just for clients. What does it mean for your work?

✦   Part B: Stakeholder Purpose (L7)   ✦
📑 The L7 Lens

Every stakeholder has a vision — even if they haven't articulated it. Your job is to help them find it.

L7 questions to carry into every session: "Who do you want to become?" "What kind of legacy are you building?" "What would make you proud to look back on this?"
👥 Bridging Purposes

When your purpose connects to theirs, work stops being a transaction and starts being a partnership.

4 Growth Commitment Turn insight into action — session by session

Growth doesn't happen by reading. It happens by choosing one thing, practising it, and reflecting on what changed. Use this section to set your intention and track your progress across sessions.
