From Scribe who documents, to Consultant who discovers, to someone who lives for the work with purpose and passion.
Each shift below shows what it looks like at every stage. Rate yourself honestly — not where you think you should be, but where you actually are today.
| Scribe | "This doesn't make sense. They don't know what they want." |
| Consultant | "Help me understand the problem behind this request." |
| Passionate | "Every 'no' is a clue. Every objection hides a deeper need." |
| Scribe | "I know the solution. Let me spec it out." |
| Consultant | "Let's sit with the problem a little longer. What are we really solving?" |
| Passionate | "The problem itself is the most interesting part. Solutions are just artifacts." |
| Scribe | "The requirement is the requirement. I document, I deliver." |
| Consultant | "What's beneath this request? What are they really asking for?" |
| Passionate | "Surface requests are just the doorway. The treasure is in the depths." |
| Scribe | "Here are the requirements I've gathered. Sign off here." |
| Consultant | "What does success look like to you? What worries you most?" |
| Passionate | "A great question is worth more than a great answer. I collect questions." |
Your body knows before your mind does. Every stance has a physical signature. Learning to read your own emotions is the first step to reading your stakeholder's.
| Placating | Shoulders tense, nodding too much, shallow breath, stomach tight |
| Blaming | Jaw clenched, voice sharp, chest tight, finger-pointing energy |
| Super Reasonable | Body still, flat tone, crossing arms, narrow focus on data |
| Irrelevant | Fidgeting, shifting weight, scattered eyes, quick subject changes |
| Congruent | Relaxed shoulders, steady breath, open posture, grounded |
You can't prevent every emotional reaction. But you can learn to reset mid-session.
Passion isn't something you find — it's something you build by connecting what you do every day to what matters deeply. This section helps you make that connection: first inward (your purpose), then outward (stakeholder purpose).
Go beyond the obvious. Why BA? Why discovery? What drew you here?
Not every part of the job lights you up. When do you feel most alive in your work?
Describe the BA you're becoming — not just in skills, but in presence and impact.
KabarBaik's tagline isn't just for clients. What does it mean for your work?
Every stakeholder has a vision — even if they haven't articulated it. Your job is to help them find it.
When your purpose connects to theirs, work stops being a transaction and starts being a partnership.
Growth doesn't happen by reading. It happens by choosing one thing, practising it, and reflecting on what changed. Use this section to set your intention and track your progress across sessions.
